My sister, Michelle, was up visiting for the weekend and we got together Super Bowl Sunday to play around with my new black back drop. I was looking for any excuse to not have to watch any of the pre-game stuff, and Michelle had just gotten a new teal shirt so she was game. I also used my new Alien Bees light (which I am loving!).

Seth Portraits in Old Sacramento
Seth and I met years back in the theatre department at SFSU as undergrads. I have fond memories of Seth's crazy antics at a place I called "Taco Bell Beach" and the summer when he came to spend time with my family. Seth is spontaneous, funny, and a great listener. It seems he is in the perfect career as a drama therapist in San Francisco. I was excited when he contacted me to take some portraits for him this month. He is currently also online dating and blogging about his experiences. The photos are to help enhance his dating profile, and I am excited to see if he notices a difference after he uploads them. I had a lot of fun catching up with him; its great when my photography puts me back in touch with old friends. Here are some of my favorite photos from our session!
And these last two were some really fun shots to end the night. I think it should be Seth's new dating profile pic should be one of these. :)

Valentine's Portraits: Jordan and Lane
It had been years since I had seen Jordan... She and my sister were the same year in school and became friends, and I always liked her kind spirit and wisdom beyond her years. We are both "old souls" in some ways... Years later (thanks to facebook!) we reconnected and she has been such an encouraging "e-presence" with her positive comments on my photography page. I was THRILLED when she booked me for this session with her and her daughter, Lane. It's a Valentine's present for Jordan's husband and I think it will be a really sweet surprise. Jordan and Lane are really cute together, and our session was full of smiles and laughs. Lane has soooooooo much energy! I was on the move all afternoon!

Mojo's Bar & Lounge Photo Shoot
Last week I got together with some of my "returning" models, Amber, Danielle and Kirsten, to do a fun themed shoot at a new bar opening in Woodland, CA. Mojo's Lounge (located in the familiar home of the old Morrison's bar), they also will have a kitchen (Kitchen 428) with some delicious menu items. This place pairs classic style with modern decor and is sure to be a popular new hangout. I am thankful to Christy, the owner, for allowing us to come in and do this shoot. This is actually in the same building as where the Film Noir series was shot a few months back. Makeup and hair credit goes to the talented Shea Lillard of Hairloom Salon & Spa.
